Psychology
"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” Shakespeare (Hamlet) |
At Harris Academy Tottenham, Psychology is an option subject at KS4 and KS5. Pupils study the OCR exam board for GCSE and AQA for A-Level.
Psychology involves the scientific study of individuals; it raises many interesting questions by focusing on individual differences and why individuals behave in certain ways.
Pupils learn the core areas of Psychology: Cognitive, Social, Biological, Developmental, Individual Differences and Research Methods. Pupils on the course enjoy discussing and debating topical issues, read widely around the topics and enjoy essay writing to communicate the debate.
Mission statement
Our pupils will be able to think outside of the box, understand content and apply their knowledge to real life scenarios. They will understand whether evaluation points support or go against theories and explain why.
