Economics
“Economics is everywhere and understanding economics can help you make better decisions and lead a happier life.” Tyler Cowen |
Studying Economics has become more popular over recent years as young people have responded to the national attention on the macroeconomy, as well as to the incentives in the labour market.
The overarching intent and theme of Economics at Harris Academy Tottenham is to prepare pupils with the fundamental knowledge and the skills to achieve in Economics both academically and within the wider working world.
Economics is currently studied at A Level and we believe that everything we do should be focused on preparing pupils to occupy positions of influence in every sphere of professional and civic life. Our aspiration is that they progress to become the future leaders of our society, shaping its direction and achievements.
Mission statement
Our pupils will build the knowledge and skills to not only enter the world of work or academia, but also be equipped to deal with a rapidly changing world. Having learned a rigorous and broad two-year curriculum at A Level, we want them to be career-ready, able to face the challenges of the world and contribute to making their communities a better place to live. The department strives to offer unrivalled opportunities for both pupils and teachers alike to explore their passions and stretch themselves.
