Enrichment
Our approach to enrichment
Our teachers aim to offer a variety of extracurricular activities to provide our children with the opportunity to find their passion and practice their talents.
By the end of Year 6, we want to ensure all pupils have a broad and balanced range of experiences. We are passionate about providing children with the opportunity to learn through practical and exciting learning opportunities. Trips, visitors and opportunities enhance our curriculum and provide children with further excitement and motivation to learn.
When planning trips, all teachers will carry out an in-depth risk assessment, request permission for parents and provide information at least two weeks in advance of the trip taking place. As well as planned trips, our children will also have the opportunity to take in specific days, such as dress up days, sports days and competitions.
In addition to day trips, we will plan outdoor and adventurous residential trips, where children will be given the opportunity to stay overnight and take part in a variety of experiences such as team games and abseiling.
Enrichment Thursdays
We want all pupils to have the opportunity to take part in enrichment opportunities. Therefore, our enrichment programme runs as part of the school day, 3pm – 4pm on Thursdays. All pupils have the opportunity to select their preferences. Every half term, pupils can change enrichment sessions. Different opportunities include sports and fitness clubs, art and creativity clubs, learning a language, musical opportunities including the choir and so much more! We also work with a range of companies to run specialist enrichment. Home time on a Thursday for all pupils is 4pm.
